Unique governance system

Jacobs Engineering led the master plan design, and the operators of the $600-million smart, sustainable infrastructure will ensure consistent, safe, and secure power, water, and transportation services for the entire development. The Jacobs Engineering Port of SatuyÃ© Master Plan states, "The Port of Satuye will attract the world's best and most innovative companies to Honduras. The nearshoring hub will bring diverse new industries while enhancing and enabling exponential growth for local and regional commercial sector players." Jacobs intends to lead the design and engineering teams to Satuye's successful completion.
Creating thousands of jobs in Honduras
The development of Satuye will bring jobs to the community, and by creating those opportunities at home, Hondurans don't have to migrate to provide for their family and realize a secure future. Quality of life amenities like affordable healthcare, education, hospitality, retail, and open & green spaces will enhance the health and happiness of all residents of La Ceiba and surrounding communities.
The U.S. and Honduran development team is led by proven city-scale development professionals, supported by the best strategy, design, engineering, and financing partners. Prospera's projects in SatuyÃ© and the city of St. John's Bay on the island of Roatan represent complementary components made possible by special economic zones. A recent report from CSIS points out, "Should the Chinese model dominate the Americas, it is likely that a far more hostile environment will await international private enterprise in the region." Latin American countries that move toward implementing Chinese BRI projects are not blind to the downsides but often cite the lack of a reasonable counteroffer from the United States as a rationale for a turn toward China. For this reason, private non-partisan SEZs represent a twofold opportunity for Latin American nations. They can participate in the nearshoring movement and utilize an alternative to Chinese BRI without all the burdensome financial risks.
A much-needed stimulant for the global economy
As the nearshoring movement takes hold, countries that proactively engage in the process will see an increase in foreign investment as companies look to take advantage of the region's growing economic potential. For Satuye, it is estimated that the total investment for the development over the next decade will exceed $5 billion. Honduras Próspera Inc (HPI) has raised an additional $60 million dollars, which will be fully invested in Honduras, in turn creating immediate jobs in construction and building the foundations for a long-lasting and sustainable future.
Most of these new investments will create the world class physical infrastructure required for new businesses to flourish in Roatán Próspera. These new spaces combined with the Próspera Platform’s business friendly environment will enable far more foreign direct investment into Honduras. This in turn will create additional jobs in different sectors, fulfilling the aspirations of transforming Roatan from a tourism-based economy to an international zone for innovation, finance, and entrepreneurship.
In total, over 27,000 square meters of new construction will be built, creating over 600 new construction jobs and over 300 new knowledge economy jobs. These new mixed use spaces will use state of the art architecture techniques that blend together the beauty of nature and sea in Roatán, with world-class sophisticated residential, retail and office spaces. Local materials and providers will also be used as much as possible, creating business opportunities for small suppliers in Honduras.

Próspera Announces Bitcoin Bond Authority in the First Crypto-Friendly Jurisdiction that is Fully AML-KYC Compliant

Three teams of entrepreneurs from the Crawfish Rock community had the opportunity to take part in a 4-week entrepreneurial bootcamp, sponsored by the Próspera Foundation. The participants learned a number of topics ranging from the basics of starting a business to project positioning, marketing and finance thanks to a partnership between Próspera and T&M.
To culminate four weeks of successful training, a project competition was organised on October 1, allowing these brilliant local entrepreneurs to show off their business ideas to an evaluation committee as well as to the public at large.
Three Roatan young entrepreneurs impressed the judges with their idea for Clean4u, a website that will enable islanders to access deep cleaning services at affordable rates and convenience. They were awarded the first prize in the competition, consisting of $1000.
“Our dream is for the company to grow, to make it a franchise and spread it across the world and winning the competition was just a start.”, said the members of the winning team.
Steven Namanny, manager of the Próspera Foundation, said the training and competition highlighted the power of entrepreneurship and wishes for improvement in the local community.
David Sandino, Program Manager at T&M, remarked: “We are thrilled to support the community providing business training. Our goal is to help businesses be competitive by implementing digital transformation and to boost employment opportunities through education”.
